Strategy for hospitals

While some do have clear cut strategies, others are busy managing and firefighting existing operations. Here are a few points to ponder in a fast changing world.
- What is your positioning – specialisation vs general hospital
- Are you a low cost vs high value provider or both
- How do you intend to delivery value to the patient
- Your outlook – commercial vs social vs charity
- Do you bother about competition or, are you in a blue ocean space
- Are you spreading yourself too thin by offering too many services
- How well equipped are you to adopt industry changes – ambulatory surgery, for example
- Are you geared up in managing patient expectations at various touch points
- Do you have management bandwidth at the top to execute your vision
- Is your organisation run using measurement matrices using Data Analytics
